| 15 Countries Participation In Bali Art Festival 2006 |
 15 foreign countries is participant in annual event of Bali Arts Festival (PKB means 'Pesta Kesenian Bali') 2006. The opening ceremony of PKB will be opened by Republic of Indonesia president, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, which is also marrying by 13 provinces. |
“I am glad PKB was known by foreign country, that shown from their participation in PKB,” stated the deputy of PKB’s commission, Drs Nyoman Nika Naya MM, when the press conference of PKB held in the Cultural Office Bali, on Wednesday.
 Nika Naya stated that, the prior of PKB 2005 was followed by nine foreign countries. The new performance in PKB 2005 is Ramayana Festival which involving 5 foreign countries, such as India, Thailand, Singapore, Kamboja and America,” he stated. Moreover Indian is sent 2 groups with the100 personnel. He admitted, 60 percent of this event is to perpetuation of culture and 40 percent to developing of arts. “To PKB promotion in this year we are joining with Bali Tourism Board and tourism stakeholder,” he explained. However they not made the tourism packet that involving the PKB. |
The head of PKB’s commission, Wayan Subagiada, stated the budget of PKB 2006 is reaching Rp 3 billion. While that the fund has been spread to the region governments are reach Rp 2,7 billion. In this year PKB will be held 206 performances and the exhibition member is a limited only 150 participant.
He explained, the aimed of PKB held to perpetuation the culture that gives the impact of tourism promotion. He stated they have done the promotion since September 2005 that through Internet and other promotion device.[bali arts festival]
